The Challenge:

Northwestern Mutual had planned to move to a new space in Clayton, Missouri prior to the pandemic hitting. They wanted their new space to make a distinctive statement about who they are as a company while delivering on the goal of providing their employees with a new way to work to ensure their safety and satisfaction with the new space.

The Solution:

CI Select worked together with Nehring Design to design and deliver a Conforming Workplace that would provide their employees and clients with a unique experience within the large, open space. Free address was central to the approach as there weren’t any assigned workstation or private offices with a wide array of collaborative spaces for meetings and conferencing of varying sizes and purposes.

The Result:

The new space for Northwestern Mutual is truly distinguished as an agile work environment, offering a multitude of spaces to support new workstyles. Even executive offices were designed more like a living room than the traditional C-suite and employees and clients could absorb the contents of the esteemed brand’s heritage and core values on the prominently displayed history wall.
