Designing for the modern worker.
Workplaces have changed. Instead of rigid layouts, today’s environments are designed around people—how they work, gather, and create.
Creating an environment your people will love is no small feat.

Spaces for everyone.
Employees recognize the benefits of being together. To maximize those benefits—for employees and their organization—their workplace needs to provide spaces optimized for what they want to do there. This ranges from spaces to collaborate, meet, socialize, and receive mentorship, to quiet spots for heads-down focus.
Private Offices
The private office, once a fixed element of corporate workplace planning, has evolved into a flexible environment that supports technology-enabled and collaboration-driven work. Today’s private offices are designed to accommodate both individual focus and team interaction.
Three main private office types—individual, multi-use, and shared—serve a range of work styles, from heads-down concentration to collaborative engagement.
Individual
Designed for focused tasks, individual private offices provide a quiet retreat that reduces distractions and supports concentration and thoughtful work.
Multi-Use
Multi-use private offices accommodate both individual and collaborative work, offering adaptable spaces and integrated technology for in-person meetings or virtual connection with remote colleagues.
Shared
Shared offices encourage learning and mentorship among teammates and can be tailored to support multiple hybrid workers who are in the office part-time and don’t require dedicated desks. These spaces can function in a variety of ways, from a designated two-person office to an unassigned, first-come, first-served workspace.
Workstations
Workstations are the primary interface between people and their work, shaping posture, focus, comfort, and daily efficiency. Thoughtfully designed systems balance individual needs with team dynamics, supporting both heads-down focus and collaboration within a cohesive environment.
Focused Planning
Allows individuals to concentrate on their work, while not being isolated from their colleagues.
Shared Planning
Supports two or three people who work together frequently and benefit from planned and spontaneous collaboration.
Team Planning
Integrates primary workstations and collaborative spaces for larger groups in constant communication.
Meeting Rooms
Increasingly, organizations’ most productive and envelope-pushing work takes place in shared spaces. Well-planned shared spaces not only improve workplace dynamics—addressing cultural context, providing amenities, and solving for practical issues, like privacy, for example—but they also connect people to their space and to each other. Because of the exchanges they foster, they are in many ways the cultural heart of today’s workplaces.
Enclave | 3-4 People | 100 sq. ft
Generally a small open or enclosed space, three to four people can work together in enclaves equipped with a desk height table or lower table, work chairs, touchdown seating or work lounge, and digital and analog communication tools.
Team Meeting | 4-8 People | 200 sq. ft
Team Meeting spaces may be open areas or fully enclosed work rooms with either a large table or clustered tables, flexible seating options, work lounge, and digital and analog communication tools.
Assembly | 10+ People | 400+ sq. ft
Enclosed or partially open, Assembly are large group areas equipped with multiple display surfaces (tackable, whiteboard and video), credenzas for storage and counters, and tables or hospitality carts for refreshments.
Community Spaces
Explore ways that the workplace can encourage people to interact with their extended networks while supporting the range of work that happens at the community level.
Cafe
These inviting community settings support gathering or hosting, often around food and drink. They accommodate a range of people with seating and tables at different heights.
Plaza
The plaza provides an environment for networking and socializing, but also serves as a place to touch down for a change of scene.
Outdoor
Outdoor spaces are increasingly recognized as critical to providing flexible support for socialization, creativity, collaboration and employee wellness. Pairing open-air environments with the right mix of furniture connects people to their environment and positively impacts their wellbeing through natural light and fresh air.
